Violin Lessons

Nadia Monastyrsky violin teacher

Nadia Monastyrsky completed her degree in violin at the Conservatorium of Music in Ukraine, and was taught by one of David Oistrakh’s personal students. After completing her studies, Nadia played with the Odessa Opera and Ballet Orchestra as a first violinist. At the same time she was teaching at the Stolyarsky School of Music for gifted children. Nadia toured with the orchestra and with chamber groups playing in China, Italy, Belgium and Greece.

Shortly after immigrating to Australia in 1994, Nadia became a member of the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and worked in a freelance capacity with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Nadia attends international competitions and master classes, and maintains her connections with those at the forefront of recent developments in string playing.

Applying methods and skills gained throughout her training and career, Nadia incorporates specific techniques into her lessons as a violin teacher.
Her students consistently achieve excellent results in AMEB examinations and produce high marks in the Higher School Certificate (HSC). They also perform successfully in various Eisteddfods throughout Sydney and have won music scholarships whilst completing their secondary school education.

Nadia is currently teaching violin at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as well as tutoring privately in the Eastern Suburbs, Sydney. Students are welcome to contact Nadia for more information.
